Scruffy Hamilton second to Bottas after mistakes: British GP FP2 Results
Valtteri Bottas emerged from a blustery second practice session for the British Grand Prix as the fastest man on-track, as several drivers – including Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton – struggled to keep to the track limits. Hamilton ran off-track at Chapel when he looked set to better Bottas' top time, which was set on the medium compound tyres. Article continues under video Bottas was unable to improve when he ran on the softest compound, something several other drivers experienced. Having topped the timesheets in FP1, Pierre Gasly once again went quicker than Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen, who also struggled to get the softs switched on.
