Ricciardo benefited from Renault team orders in Canada
Cyril Abiteboul said that ordering Nico Hulkenberg to remain behind Daniel Ricciardo at the Canadian Grand Prix was a necessity in order to secure Renault's first double points finish of the season. Ricciardo and Hulkenberg came hoe sixth and seventh respectively in Montreal. Getting both in the top 10 for the first time in 2019 suggested that Renault's upgrades are beginning to pay off after a frustrating start to the season hampered by poor reliability.
