Alonso supports zero tolerance policy in track limits debate

Fernando Alonso believes that there should be no tolerance for exceeding track in F1. The Spaniard was the first driver to fall foul of the rule in Mexico that meant his time was deleted for exceeding track limits at turn 11 but believes that the rule is a positive for Formula One. Alonso, who is also competing in the WEC 2018/19 super season, said that he preferred the approach in the WEC in that all abuses of track limits would be penalised. “I prefer when it’s zero tolerance,” said Alonso. “In Fuji (WEC) we crossed the white line by one centimetre and they delete the lap time, and we were not on pole position because of that.  "We didn’t gain time...
