Rosenqvist on pole, title rival Vergne eighth – Qualifying Report

Rome E-Prix – Mahindra Racing driver Felix Rosenqvist took pole position ahead of DS Virgin’s Sam Bird for the inaugural Rome Formula E race. Rosenqvist was second fastest in group qualifying but set a dominant lap in super pole to go 0.676s clear of the field, despite tapping the wall with his right-rear wheel on the exit of the Turns 11/12 chicane. He gets three points for pole position, reducing his championship deficit to Jean-Eric Vergne to 27 points. Mitch Evans was third for Jaguar, ahead of group qualifying pacesetter Andre Lotterer and Sebastien Buemi who ran wide at the Turn 13 hairpin after setting a purple middle sector.
