New F1 Singapore GP deal on horizon – Carey

Formula 1 boss Chase Carey says the Singapore Grand Prix remains the ‘anchor’ to Liberty’s race strategy in the Asian market and is confident of securing a new long-term deal to retain the Marina Bay Street Circuit on the calendar. Singapore is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary of hosting F1 after the sport arrived for its maiden race under the floodlights in 2008 while this year’s race is the last under its current deal. F1's CEO Carey has been in Singapore to settle on a new deal with the race organisers and despite no official contract being in place the Marina Bay Street Circuit race has been pencilled into the 2018 calendar in its familiar mid-September slot.
