Gallery: Senna's first ever Formula 1 test

Ayrton Senna tested a Formula 1 car for the first time at Britain's Donington Park circuit in 1983 - the year he won the British F3 championship. It's been 34 years since the historic day when he stepped into the cockpit of Williams' F1 car. Senna was given the opportunity by Williams, which at that time had Keke Rosberg and Jacques Laffite as its race driver. Not only the Brazilian was faster than the Williams duo, he also broke the lap record. 34 years on, we recall the historic day in 34 photos.
