Mercedes and Ferrari split tyre strategies for Canada
Mercedes and Ferrari have chosen different Formula 1 tyre strategies for next month’s Canadian Grand Prix. Tyre supplier Pirelli mandates three of the 13 sets per driver, with teams free to make their own selection for the remaining 10. Mercedes has chosen eight sets of the ultra-soft tyre, one fewer than Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas splitting their allocations between soft and supersoft. Hamilton has opted for just one set of softs, as have Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, while Bottas has two.
