P3: Sainz crash halts session
Third practice for the Russian GP was brought to a premature end on Saturday morning after Carlos Sainz suffered a heavy crash. The Toro Rosso driver appeared to lose control of his car under braking at Turn 13 - at the end of Sochi Autodrom's longest straight and therefore its fastest section. No replays of the accident were shown, but marks suggest that Sainz's car hit the wall before ploughing underneath the barriers. The session was red-flagged as marshals and then medical personnel attended to Sainz. Understandably, there was intial concern about the 21-year-old's condition; shortly afterwards, however, the FIA confirmed that Sainz was conscious and was showing no signs on any serious...
