Force India retains Sergio Perez for 2016

Force India has announced that Sergio Perez will remain with the team for the 2016 Formula 1 season. Perez joined Force India at the beginning of the 2014 season, and signed a new multi-year deal with the team in Abu Dhabi last year. His place with the team for 2016 was still unconfirmed, though, with speculation linking him with a move to Lotus upon a possible buy-out by Renault. Force India was known to be evaluating its driver options for 2016 in the event that either Perez or teammate Nico Hulkenberg left, engaging in talks with Mercedes junior Pascal Wehrlein.
