Alonso failure caused by electrical shutdown

Hungarian Grand Prix – Fernando Alonso's crowd-pleasing push of his car was caused by an electrical system shutdown. It was another troubled session for McLaren in Hungary, despite their slightly more elevated expectations at a circuit that doesn't require all-out engine power. Having been granted a free power unit change thanks to a recent rule change, McLaren opted to put new power units into their cars immediately and have been running fresh units since the start of Friday practice. Going into qualifying, their weekend had looked slightly more promising than usual after a strong FP3 session saw Alonso take P8 & Button P13.
