Alonso: 'Getting points on the table is always important'

British Grand Prix – The spartan comfort of 10th place may seem like nothing when you consider Fernando Alonso's illustrious career, but the Spanish driver was pleased to have taken a point home from Silverstone. Alonso was lucky to survive the first lap of the race though, as one of the drivers caught up in the melee caused by the two Lotus drivers & Daniel Ricciardo colliding. Alonso, swerving to avoid, lost the rear of his MP4/30 and spun into the side of Jenson Button. Button was eliminated on the spot, while Alonso returned to the pits for repairs.
