Alonso braced for Q1 elimination
– McLaren-Honda driver Fernando Alonso fears that it will be difficult to progress from the first phase of qualifying for the British Grand Prix.Alonso and team-mate Jenson Button finished 15th and 17th in Friday's second practice session, with both men completing limited mileage.Alonso also endured a couple of off-track excursions, including a trip through the gravel trap after misjudging his entry to Luffield."Today was more or less as we expected – we did limited running, and just tried to get some quality laps under our belts today," said Alonso."It wasn't very easy for anyone today – we saw a lot of people going off – but that's how it is.
