Hembery taken aback by Michelin demands

irelli Motorsport Director Paul Hembery says he is surprised by the demands of rival manufacturer Michelin in its application to secure Formula 1's next tyre contract.Pirelli has acted as the sport's sole supplier since the 2011 season, but governing body the FIA last month opened a tender for a three-year deal from 2017-2019.Michelin's application is made with the demand for 18-inch rims and longer-lasting tyres, a move which has irked Hembery – who reiterated that Pirelli works to the rules set out."We follow the rules, we follow what we're asked to do," said Hembery."The sport has asked us to do a certain job as partner and supplier and that's very simple."An...
