Mixed emotions for the Toro Rosso pair
There were contrasting verdicts on either side of the Toro Rosso garage, with Max Verstappen achieving his third top-ten qualifying performance of the year and Carlos Sainz lamenting the lack of rain in 13th. Both drivers performed strongly in the intermediate conditions in the first part of qualifying, before the pair become separated in Q2. Verstappen managed to make it into the third part of qualifying whilst traffic prevented Sainz from a similar achievement.
