Mixed Mercedes opinions regarding radioed fuel information
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were both notified by the Mercedes pitwall in the Canadian Grand Prix's closing laps of fuel levels quickly nearing critical. However, while Rosberg was denied information about his teammate's fuel load, Hamilton received detailed lift and coast instructions from his race engineer. 'I don't really know what I need to say,' Hamilton said when queried by FormulaSpy about the possibility of such instructions being considered driver coaching. 'At the end I had fuel. I think the team just wanted us to come home. I knew I had plenty of fuel at the end: there was a point where, I think 15 laps from the end, I had enough fuel to make it to the end even if I pushed...
