Reports claim engine allotment for 2015 raised to 5

Drivers may be permitted to use a 5th power unit this season, it emerged on Friday. Bernie Ecclestone sat down with team bosses at Sepang and allegedly agreed to increase the season limit of just 4 ‘power units' per driver for the whole championship to 5. The original limit of 5 was reduced to the current 4 following the removal of the Korean Grand Prix from the 2015 calendar. Potential issues with the new ‘4 engine' regulation arose in Melbourne, where both Red Bull and McLaren each lost a power unit at the first race out of 19 due to be held this year.
