Hamilton: It would have been an easy win
Lewis Hamilton reckons he could have claimed an 'easy win' at the British Grand Prix, but for his tyre failure.Hamilton appeared to be in control after making a good start from pole position in front of his home fans.However, on lap 8, his left-rear tyre let go and he dropped right to the back of the pack.While he recovered and finished in a very impressive fourth - helped by two safety car periods - the Englishman was still disappointed, and with team-mate, Nico Rosberg winning, it showed the Mercedes was definitely up to the job.“It was really unfortunate today,” Hamilton told N F1. “The fans have been incredible, the weather's great and it looked like we were on our way to a win....
