FIA draft Ferrari into tyre-gate investigation
The FIA has called for Scuderia Ferrari to be brought into the controversial investigation on Mercedes and Pirelli's 1000km development test that took place at the Circuit de Catalunya after the Spanish Grand Prix.
Ferrari are said to have taken part in a separate Pirelli test after the Bahrain Grand Prix, but crucially using a 2011 spec car. When questioned on the subject in a recent Pirelli conference, Paul Hembery declined to name the Italian squad due to the matter being confidential.
The statement from the FIA confirmed that they want both Mercedes and Ferrari to reply to a disciplinary enquiry. Ferrari originally lodged a protest against the Brackley based team alongside Red Bull...
