Williams confirms Mercedes-deal

The Williams Formula 1 team has confirmed on Thursday morning it has came to an agreement with Mercedes-Benz. The team has signed a long-term engine partnership with the German engine manufacturer. Last week Mercedes' Toto Wolff already confirmed to GPUpdate.net Williams was one of the teams Mercedes was talking with to come to an agreement and today Williams confirmed  it did came to an agreement for multiple years. The 2014 regulations will set the sport’s engineers the challenge of completing a 300 km race distance on a fuel load of just 100 kg. To do so, teams will switch from naturally aspirated 2.4 litre V8 engines to 1.6 litre V6 turbocharged hybrid Power Units. To achieve power...
