Mercedes secure Lowe's early release

Former McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe will join Mercedes six months earlier than initially planned. Mercedes have agreed with McLaren for Lowe to join on 3 June, in the role of executive director (technical). Mercedes said Lowe would 'work closely with team principal Ross Brawn… who will retain overall responsibility for sporting and technical matters'. Lowe was recruited last winter with the intention of replacing Brawn, but Mercedes changed their plans. More to follow. Also related to this story
