Silverstone receives lottery funding
Silverstone has been allocated an initial £446,068 of lottery funding ahead of a bid for £9.1m from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The funding is for a British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) project named 'Silverstone Heritage Live' which is designed to bring the circuit's history to life and will feature 'the BRDC archive, a heritage trail and live interactive experiences within a Heritage Hub located at the entrance to the circuit'. BRDC chairman Stuart Rolt said it is important for Silverstone to share its history with the public. "We are very proud to have won this grant and are extremely excited about the project," Rolt said.
