Ecclestone would sign 50 year contract with Melbourne

26 February, 2013 Bernie Ecclestone Melbourne is currently contracted to host the Australian Grand Prix until 2015, but F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone is optimistic the event has a long-term future in the Victorian capital. Speaking to the Australian Grand Prix ‘Keeping Track’ podcast this week, the CEO of Formula One Management (FOM) said that keeping Melbourne on the calendar after 2015 remains a priority. “We hope we’re going to be in Melbourne forever. We’re happy with Melbourne and I’d be happy to sign a 50-year contract. We don’t have a problem with Melbourne,” he said.
