Gillan was one of the key members of a new technical team put in place last year, which has overseen a significant improvement in performance and returned Williams to the top step of the podium at the Spanish Grand Prix this year. A team spokeswoman confirmed to N that he had left the team to spend more time with his family, but said there were no further details on how the team intends to replace Gillan.
