Vettel nominated for 2012 Laureus Award

Sebastian Vettel has been nominated for the title of ' Laureus World Sportsman of the Year' following his third successive world title. The Red Bull driver, who beat Fernando Alonso to the 2012 Drivers' crown, is up against five rivals in the category. Vettel, who will go up against Olympic Gold medalists Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Michael Phelps and Bradley Wiggins plus star FC Barcelona player Lionel Messi for the title, became the youngest ever triple World Champion with his title triumph this year. In addition to Vettel's nomination, Red Bull Racing is in the running for 'World Team of the Year' at the ceremony, taking place in Rio de Janeiro on March 11.
