Mystery damage ruins Verstappen’s charge in Nürburgring NLS5

The challenge of the fearsome Nordschleife turned against Max Verstappen on Sunday, as what began as a commanding charge in the day’s qualifying race for next month’s Nürburgring 24 Hours unraveled into frustration deep inside the legendary venue. The NLS5 event carried a heavy atmosphere following the tragic abandonment of Saturday's NLS4 race, which claimed the life of amateur racer Juha Miettinen.
