Piastri helpless against Verstappen straight-line speed in Spa sprint

26/07/2025 at 12:4726/07/2025 at 13:00 Championship leader Oscar Piastri walked away from Saturday’s Belgian Grand Prix Sprint with a solid second-place finish and a slightly bigger points cushion – but couldn’t hide a tinge of frustration after spending 15 laps locked behind a Red Bull he simply couldn’t pass. Starting from pole, Piastri made a clean launch and initially tried to break the slipstream advantage down the long Kemmel Straight. But Max Verstappen, armed with a low-downforce Red Bull setup, made the expected move into Les Combes on Lap 1 and never looked back.
