'Red Bull investigation makes clear: fuel pump was not the cause'

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had to retire early during the Bahrain Grand Prix. Initially the problem seemed to be due to the fuel pump, a standard part of every Formula 1 car, but according to De Telegraaf this turns out not to be true. The medium heard from various sources around the FIA and Red Bull Racing that the fuel pump was not the cause of the problem. The teams even had the opportunity to inspect it one day before the race and the Austrian racing team would have done so. At that time there was also nothing wrong with the part.
