Perez hoped for more: "It was pretty close"
Sergio Perez drove a great race and finished in P3. The Mexican challenged Lewis Hamilton for second position but couldn't make the overtake work. The driver had hoped for more but can be satisfied with the result. Perez is the first Mexican on the podium and also the first Mexican who has led the GP of Mexico. After the race, Perez responded the following: "It's unbelievable. I wanted more today. I wanted to get the one-two for the team but it was pretty close," Perez said. Indeed, with a few laps to go, Perez was very close to Lewis Hamilton, but the Red Bull driver failed to overtake. Still, he can be happy with a P3 and thus a double podium for the team. Read more...
