Gasly wants car changes to improve visibility

Pierre Gasly wants the next generation of Formula 1 cars to create less spray to improve drivers’ visibility in wet conditions. The Frenchman feels particularly strongly about safety on the Belgian Grand Prix weekend at Spa – two years earlier, his friend Anthoine Hubert was killed in the Formula 2 race there. Therefore, Gasly had no problem with the decision not to turn the lights green due to incessant rain on race day, although he was “surprised” that a second short stint behind the Safety Car was given the go-ahead – and which ultimately determined the result – when conditions appeared worse than the first time, nearly three hours earlier.
