Sainz ‘not at all' prepared for first race

After the first day of pre-season testing, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz says that he doesn't feel at all prepared for the first race of the year. The Spaniard joined the Italian team from McLaren for the 2021 campaign and had already driven a Ferrari in Fiorano prior to testing in Bahrain. He then completed a total of 57 laps in the Friday afternoon session at the Sakhir circuit and had few issues. Despite this, he doesn't feel ready for the new season. 'I feel prepared for testing, definitely. Prepared for race one? Not at all,' he said after the session.
