Alonso released from hospital after fracturing jaw

Fernando Alonso has been released from a Swiss hospital to continue his recovery at home after fracturing his jaw. The two-time F1 champion was involved in a crash with a car in the car park of a Lidl supermarket in the Swiss town of Lugano on Thursday afternoon. Article continues under video Alonso, who makes his F1 comeback with the rebranded Alpine team after a two-year break, was taken to a local hospital where he underwent corrective surgery. The 39-year-old then remained under observation for three nights.
