Four retirements after major crash on restart

The restart in the Tuscan Grand Prix went wrong. Valtteri Bottas waited a long time before he accelerated after the safety car left the track. The drivers towards the back didn't realise. Antonio Giovinazzi, Kevin Magnussen, Carlos Sainz and Nicholas Latifi are out of the race after the midfield got backed up.  Bottas decided to go late on the restart after the first safety car. A number of drivers in the back of the field did not notice this. There was a chain reaction. The damage was major and Michael Masi had no choice but to stop the race.
