Gasly after qualifying: "The Renaults and McLarens had increased their speed"
Pierre Gasly of Alpha Tauri will start tomorrow on the fifth row of the grid. In the final qualifying session he didn't make it above tenth, but asked his team if he had suffered any damage after having crossed a kerb in Q2. He explains this in an interview with Sky Sports after qualifying. "Apparently I didn't have any damage, but we're going to check again later and tonight. In Q2 I was very happy with my lap, Q3 was a lot harder and especially the first run. The second run was a reasonable lap, but the others were just a bit faster than we were this afternoon."
