Alonso had a clutch problem: "Luck was not with us today"
During his third Indy500 Fernando Alonso didn't get any further than P21, a place. That was due to a problem with the clutch. For the time being it was Alonso's last chance to win the 'Triple Crown', because in 2021 and 2022 he won't be able to compete in the American class because of his Renault return to Formula 1. “We were struggling from the very beginning with the balance of the car," Alonso is quoted by The Race. The two-time world champion suffered from a lot of oversteer.
