How Williams lost faith in Zanardi after four races
Alex Zanardi has said he sensed things were breaking down between him and Williams just four races into his troubled spell with the team. Zanardi was brought back into the Formula 1 fold after a five-year absence following back-to-back CART title successes with Chip Ganassi Racing and partnered Ralf Schumacher for the 1999 season. However, Zanardi's return was a disastrous one, retiring from 10 out of the 16 races and failing to score a point in the other six. The Brazilian driver explained where things all started to go wrong.
