Formula One 70th Anniversary plans unraveling

Plans for London to host Formula One's 70th anniversary celebration have hit a roadblock. Planned for the weekend of May 16th-17th, the event would sit between back-to-back Grand Prix in Zandvoort and Barcelona and just four days ahead of first practice in Monaco. Article continues under video The weekend was chosen as it is the closest to the anniversary of that first race at Silverstone on May 13th, 1950. Liberty Media are hoping to convince all ten teams and all 20 drivers to attend but according to RaceFans.net, teams raised their concerns over the plans for the festival at a meeting of the Promoters’ Working Group earlier this week.
