Five place grid penalty for Haas' Kevin Magnussen
Austrian Grand Prix – Haas' Kevin Magnussen will take a five place grid penalty after qualifying due to an unscheduled gearbox change. The Danish driver finished P18 in final practice at the Red Bull Ring in Austria; the Haas driver only managing to get out on track for a total of eleven laps. Missing most of the second half of the session, Haas confirmed that his VF-19 had developed a gearbox problem and would require changing ahead of qualifying. As Magnussen is yet to complete the required six consecutive events with his gearbox, he will take a five place grid penalty.
