Russell not in favour of rookie practices

George Russell feels F1 could hurt rookies' careers if they press ahead with plans to run newcomers in Friday practice sessions. According to RaceFans.net, Formula 1 is debating making it mandatory for all teams to run rookie drivers in two of their Friday practices from 2021. The drivers eligible would need to have contested not more than two grands prix. But while the idea may have merit, Russell fears it puts too much pressure on the rookies who want to shine on the big stage.
