Hamilton fends off Verstappen to win at Monaco
Lewis Hamilton has had a difficult race on highly worn tyres, but managed to maintain the lead to win the Monaco Grand Prix. A penalty for Max Verstappen causes Vettel and Bottas to join him on the podium. Lewis Hamilton immediately took control of the race and didn't get threatened into Turn 1, thanks to having a better start than Bottas, and starting on the inside line for Ste. Devote. Verstappen briefly got his nose ahead of Bottas, but it was the Mercedes driver who took second, ahead of Verstappen and Vettel.
