"Bahrain GP is clear indication regarding future of Mercedes"

Mercedes technical director James Allison believes his team now have "clear indications" of the direction its development needs to head in, following Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton won the race, with Valtteri Bottas securing a Mercedes one-two in Bahrain, but the Silver Arrows had trailed Ferrari all weekend. But Charles Leclerc picked up an engine issue, clearing the way for Hamilton and Bottas. Allison believes Mercedes are fortunate to be in its position, with two consecutive one-two finishes and conceded that the team needs to make a step forward - despite its strong start.
