Ricciardo unpunished after second Renault retirement

Daniel Ricciardo Daniel Ricciardo has escaped penalty following his late retirement from the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix. The Australian ground to a halt when his car appeared to switch off in the closing stages, and caught the eye of the stewards in the process. Ricciardo's failure to finish, for the second time in as many races for Renault, came just seconds after team-mate Nico Hulkenberg had been forced out with an apparent engine failure. However, it was an electrical issue that afflicted Ricciardo, the team instructing him to stop the car and jump clear.
