Floersch undergoes successful operation after horror Macau crash

Sophia Floersch underwent a successful surgery according to doctors. The 17-year-old suffered a spinal fracture after a horrific crash during the Macau Grand Prix. Doctors say the seven-hour surgery went ahead as planned and was completed without any issues. The Formula 3 racer was sent through the catch fence at the Lisboa corner after being launched into the air by the inside kerb and crashed heavily into a photographers post set up on the outside of the corner. Doctors added that her limbs were still active and that her vitals were fine after the surgery in a press conference and Floersch is set to remain in hospital for the next two weeks while she recovers.
