Leclerc's Ferrari deal gives Ericsson 2019 hope

Marcus Ericsson hopes to do enough to earn a 2019 Formula 1 seat, claiming that Charles Leclerc's Ferrari deal "says quite a bit" about the driver market. Ericsson has improved in recent races to tun the tables on Leclerc after the Monegasque's excellent start to life in F1. Leclerc has qualified ahead of Ericsson in 12 of the 15 races so far in 2018 – only McLaren's drivers have a more one-sided rivalry, with Fernando Alonso outqualifying Stoffel Vandoorne in every grand prix this year.
