Renault say Ricciardo power unit fine for Singapore
Daniel Ricciardo will be breathing a sight of relief after Renault confirmed his power unit is in fact ok. In a statement released on the team's Twitter account, Renault said that Ricciardo's power unit would be suitable to use in Singapore and his retirement was in fact caused by a clutch issue. ANOTHER UPDATE: It is a shame that due to his penalty Verstappen narrowly missed out on a podium in Monza, with the new Renault Spec C PU. We can confirm that after studying the PU on Ricciardo’s car, his retirement was not linked to the engine. It was rather a clutch issue. — Renault Sport F1 (@RenaultSportF1) September 2, 2018
