Pirelli versus Hankook in Formula 1 tyre tender?

Formula 1 ’s exclusive tyre supplier Pirelli has competition for next tyre contract despite French company Michelin ruling out a bid to return to the sport, according to FIA president Jean Todt. Pirelli appear to have a battle on their hands as Hankook are suspected to be the company that will submit a tender to become the next exclusive tyre supplier at the highest level of motorsport The deadline set by the FIA for the 2020-23 tyre tender contract expired on Friday. Pirelli is the current sole supplier and any company seeking to replace it faces the added cost of having to design one type of tyre for 2020 and then a new one for the following three years.
