McLaren confirms James Key signing, departure of Matt Morris

McLaren has confirmed that technical guru James Key is to join the team from Toro Rosso. Key began his career with Jordan and rose through the ranks to become technical director as the squad morphed into Midland, Spyker, and then Force India. Key spent a brief spell at Sauber before moving to Toro Rosso in 2012 as its technical director, but will now depart Red Bull’s junior team to join McLaren. A start date for Key at McLaren has yet to be communicated. McLaren has also confirmed that Matt Morris has departed his role of Engineering Director.
