Canadian Grand Prix unveils giant groundhog mascot
The organisers of the Canadian Grand Prix have unveiled their own mascot for this weekend's Formula 1 race in the form of 'Vroum', a giant groundhog. Formula 1 has begun introducing mascots at races as part of a drive to entertain younger fans and organisers this weekend have chosen a groundhog as the large rodent is common in the country and often seen scuttling across the track during live sessions. 'Our mascot will surely please families who will come to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve,' commented president and CEO of the Canadian GP, Francois Dumontier.
