Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya steps down!

Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya has left his role as the team’s managing director. He remains a shareholder but is no longer a board member. Mallya bought the team in 2008. It’s believed he has left the role to focus on his legal issues which remain ongoing.  Mallya is unable to leave the UK after his arrest last year and along with these problems, he has ongoing health issues which included an operation last week.  The ownership is split between Mallay, Roy and the Mol family.  Before the season started, Force India were anticipating a name change as part of a re-brand. This hasn’t happened but changes are now underway at the team.
