Williams confirms departure of chief designer Ed Wood

Williams has confirmed the departure of its Chief Designer Ed Wood after 12 years with the team. Williams cited 'personal reasons' for Wood's departure, which comes as the British team occupies the bottom of the Constructors' table, having only scored its first points of the season last time out in Azerbaijan, courtesy of Lance Stroll's eighth-placed finish. 'We can confirm that Ed Wood has decided to leave Williams for personal reasons,' a team spokesperson told Motorsport Week. 'As Chief Designer, Ed has been instrumental in many successes during his time with the team, including the FW36 and FW37 cars which secured third place in the Constructors’ Championship in 2014...
