Hulkenberg left rueful after early crash in Baku

Azerbaijan Grand Prix – Renault's Nico Hulkenberg was left wondering what might have been had he not crashed out of Sunday's race. Hulkenberg started the race from P14, having picked up a five place grid penalty on Saturday for a gearbox change after FP3. However, a strong start, coupled with the R.S.18's apparent ability to switch on the UltraSofts quickly, meant that he was up squabbling with teammate Carlos Sainz and the two Renault-powered Red Bulls in only a handful of laps. Both Sainz and Hulkenberg picked their way decisively past the Red Bulls to run P4 & P5 on Lap 9.
